The Community of Madrid is finalizing a one-stop shop to centralize municipal procedures for professional and commercial drone operators. Additionally, a regional network is being deployed for emergency services, logistics for parcel delivery, and air taxis.
During an inaugural visit to the Telefónica Dron Center, President Díaz Ayuso detailed that, within the Community of Madrid's Drone Strategy, a droneport for advanced research and a specialized training center in Fuenlabrada will be launched. This center will train young pilots, mechanics, and developers.
Díaz Ayuso highlighted that the Community of Madrid is a benchmark in innovation and technology, noting that the regional government already uses drones to enhance public services, such as emergency support with SUMMA 112 and early detection of forest fires through artificial vision.
The new aid line, with a budget of 1.45 million euros, is open until July 31st and is aimed at SMEs and mid-caps with headquarters or a work center in the region. Subsidies will cover productive investments, consulting and certification services, and attendance at sector events.
The Community of Madrid leads the sector in Spain, hosting 30% of drone manufacturing and assembly companies and ranking second in registered professional operators. It also excels in training, hosting 31% of companies approved by the State Air Safety Agency.
