The regional agency Invest in Madrid successfully materialized 77 confirmed projects last year, marking its best historical data with a conversion rate of 28%, nearly tripling the sector's average (10%). These business initiatives are expected to create 2,094 jobs, a 6% rise from the prior period.
The economic impact translates to a return of 549 euros for every euro invested in Madrid's economy. The primary countries of origin for this investment are the United States and Argentina, followed by the United Kingdom, France, and Germany.
By sector, digitalization and Artificial Intelligence account for one-third of the total investments, alongside areas such as services, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology. Among the companies that have chosen the region for their business initiatives are Equinix, Lilly, Rovi, Allianz, ING, as well as firms like ARRK, Kappa Optronics, and the French company Hype.
Invest in Madrid has also intensified its external outreach, conducting 17 actions in priority markets, hosting 31 foreign delegations, and holding over a thousand meetings with investors. The entity organized the second edition of the Madrid Investment Forum, which gathered more than a thousand attendees, and launched its first advertising campaign outside Spain.
A new specialized financing support unit will be launched soon. This service will offer technical assistance and access to financial instruments for companies in their internationalization process and in attracting foreign capital, including the management of European, multilateral, and state funds, as well as framework agreements with international institutions.
