The Royal Tapestry Factory in Madrid will be the epicenter of the ninth edition of the DigitalES Summit, one of Spain's most important technology events, on June 24 and 25. Under the slogan 'Feel the digital heartbeat,' the gathering expects to bring together nearly 900 participants and over 60 renowned speakers.
The event benefits from the honorary patronage of King Felipe VI and the attendance of key figures such as the Minister for Digital Transformation and Public Function, Óscar López; the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, María González Veracruz; and the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructures, Antonio Hernando. Representatives from the Government, European Union institutions, and leading technology and telecommunications companies will also participate.
The agenda will focus on upcoming technological challenges, including artificial intelligence, European technological sovereignty, cybersecurity, digital infrastructures, child protection online, and digital talent development, themes aligned with the strategic priorities of the European Union and Spain.
Miguel Sánchez Galindo, CEO of DigitalES, highlighted Spain's recent advancements, such as the Artificial Intelligence Law, the establishment of the first European AI supervision agency, and the promotion of quantum technologies, positioning the country as a relevant player in European technological governance.
The association has called for measures to ensure the sustainability of the investments required for the deployment and maintenance of digital networks, which are crucial for Europe's economic competitiveness.
During the summit, initial results from DigitalES Quantum will be presented. This initiative, with a budget of 7.5 million euros, aims to accelerate the practical application of quantum technologies in strategic sectors like health, energy, and telecommunications. This project is a collaboration between DigitalES, Red.es, and several leading technology companies.
Concrete use cases will be showcased in health emergencies, medical diagnostics, energy infrastructure maintenance, and communication network security, illustrating the transformative potential of quantum computing in key economic areas.
Organizers emphasize quantum computing's potential to enhance efficiency, security, and competitiveness in strategic sectors, establishing the DigitalES Summit as a pivotal platform for defining the future technological agenda in Spain and Europe.
