The Institute of Micro and Nanotechnology (IMN-CNM), part of the CSIC and located in Tres Cantos, has opened the selection process for a new PhD position in nanomechanics.

The research will focus on developing advanced technologies for the mechanical characterization of nanoparticles, a key area for improving the efficacy of gene therapies, vaccines, and drug delivery systems. The project aims to gain deeper insights into how factors such as mass and stiffness influence the biological behavior of these components.
The work will be conducted in an interdisciplinary environment combining experimental physics, nanofabrication, and data analysis. The outcomes are intended to accelerate the clinical translation of nanomedicine technologies, with direct applications in fields such as cancer therapy.
Candidates are expected to have an excellent academic record and strong analytical skills. The position is funded through a national research project. The deadline for submitting applications is December 31, 2026.
