The Official College of Architects of Madrid (COAM) has joined the Rental Observatory, a pioneering research center in Spain, to enrich the analysis of the residential market with its expertise in architecture and urban planning.

This strategic alliance aims to integrate architectural and urban planning perspectives into the study of the rental market, considering how city design and urban planning influence aspects such as sustainability, energy efficiency, and the quality of life for tenants. The COAM management and an urban planning expert are joining the research team.

"Cities are constantly evolving entities whose objectives must be aligned with the changing needs of their inhabitants and meet their demands."

The collaboration will allow for a deeper study of the residential rental market and sector transformations, providing strategic value to the Observatory's research. This center, promoted by the Alquiler Seguro Foundation and universities such as Rey Juan Carlos and Complutense de Madrid, is dedicated to conducting rigorous research on the behavior of the rental market in Spain.

"For COAM, it is a great opportunity to contribute new strategic value to the studies we develop at the Observatory and to delve into rental as a direct path to housing access and the transformations it is experiencing."

The Observatory's work areas include price monitoring, supply and demand analysis through the Rental Barometer, delinquency rates, profiles of landlords and tenants, and studies on sustainability and emerging residential models. The Observatory's director has highlighted the importance of this architectural approach for optimizing space and ensuring regulatory compliance in the market.
As part of this new collaboration, the Rental Observatory and COAM will hold a conference on May 18, focusing on the 'Rental Situation in Madrid'. During this event, a detailed analysis of the rental market in the Community of Madrid will be presented, including data on supply, demand, prices, effort rate, and the sociodemographic profile of those involved.
