Since its inauguration 20 months ago, this space, located at the headquarters of the Consejería de Digitalización, has organized a wide variety of meetings, including sessions on cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence (AI), hackathons, and citizen laboratories for evaluating regional platforms.
During the first semester of this year alone, the facilities, spanning over 1,200 square meters, have been used by 5,500 users. The center aims to foster regional innovation and the development of public service transformation, having hosted 161 events organized by regional bodies such as the Cybersecurity Agency, technology clusters, Madrid Excelente, various associations, and companies like Airbus.
Among the notable activities in 2026 is the General Assembly of the AI Cluster, focusing on technological advancements and their business and societal applications. The Sanitary Cybersecurity Demonstrator Center was also inaugurated, an ideas laboratory to strengthen the defense of public health IT equipment and data.
The space has also hosted the final phase of the Digital Entrepreneurship Networks (RETECH Madrid) program, a European initiative supporting the growth of 140 Madrid-based startups in the health, environment, and aerospace sectors.
Citizen laboratories are held periodically to test applications such as the Virtual Health Card (TSV), the Digital Account, and the transport card. This allows ministry technicians to evaluate functionalities and gather public feedback to adapt the tools to user needs.
Thursdays are dedicated to activities raising awareness about digital risks, fostering knowledge, and promoting good cybersecurity practices.
The center serves as a connection point between autonomous communities, hosting the II Meeting of ICT Teams of the CCAA, focused on modernizing public services with over a hundred regional representatives participating. At the local level, the Conecta Ayuntamientos program offers technical support to municipalities for developing prototypes and solutions to their challenges.
The Digitaliza Week AI brought together experts to debate the impact of AI on businesses, public services, and society. South Summit 2026 made a stop at the center to welcome international delegations, and in May, the final of the II Minecraft League was held, featuring 10 selected schools.
