This reduction represents a 0.85% drop compared to February. Year-on-year, unemployment fell by 19,440 people, a 6.32% decrease, a trend very similar to the national average, which saw a 6.22% decline.
The decrease in unemployment was observed across all three Valencian provinces during March. Alicante led the reduction with 1,213 fewer unemployed (-1.03%), followed by Valencia with 879 fewer (-0.63%), and Castellón, where unemployment dropped by 375 people (-1.18%).
Year-on-year, all provinces also registered decreases: in Valencia, unemployment fell by 9,706 people (-6.50%), in Alicante by 7,714 (-6.18%), and in Castellón by 2,020 (-6.04%). Of the total unemployed, 176,955 are women and 111,207 are men, while 18,381 are under 25 years old.
By sector, the decrease in unemployment was mainly concentrated in services, with 1,658 fewer people, followed by construction (-658), industry (-310), and agriculture (-42). Conversely, the group without previous employment increased by 210 people. The services sector now accounts for the largest number of unemployed, with 204,299 individuals.
Regarding affiliation to the Social Security system, the Valencian Community added 21,832 contributors in March (+0.97%), reaching 2,263,853 affiliates. This year-on-year increase amounted to 78,185 people (+3.58%).
