The province of Huelva experienced remarkable tourism success during the recent Easter Week, with hotel occupancy rates exceeding expectations, particularly in the latter part of the holiday period, thanks to good weather and last-minute bookings.

Huelva's tourism sector has celebrated the excellent results achieved during Easter Week, highlighting the positive impact of the favorable climate. Average hotel occupancy in the capital reached 86%, while the Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche registered 80%. El Rocío was almost full with nearly 90%, and the Huelva Coast closed the final stretch with 79%.

"These good figures are mainly due to the good weather recorded during these days. International uncertainty has favored the choice of proximity destinations by national tourists."

Luis Arroyo · President of the Tourism Council
The Huelva Federation of Entrepreneurs (FOE) detailed that occupancy in the provincial capital was 86%. In the Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche, the second holiday period reached 89%, a figure very similar to that of El Rocío, which reached 88.75%. On the Coast, occupancy recovered significantly, rising from 36% in the first segment to 79% from Holy Thursday, marking the beginning of the tourist season.
National tourism was the main driver of these figures, boosted by last-minute bookings and favorable weather conditions. This surge also benefited the restaurant sector, which experienced an estimated 36% increase compared to the previous year. Some areas, such as the Coast and the Sierra, recorded activity levels comparable to those of August.
Complementary activities also saw a 26% increase in reservations, thanks to the good weather that allowed tourists and residents to enjoy leisure offerings. The Provincial Association of Hotels of Huelva (APHH) reported a provincial occupancy of 65.03%, exceeding initial estimates by 14.26 points. The second segment of Easter Week was crucial, raising the provincial average to 76.27%, 11.71 points above sector forecasts.
The APHH emphasized that the "excellent weather situation" was a decisive factor, facilitating tourist mobility, incentivizing last-minute bookings, and allowing the normal development of religious, cultural, and leisure programming throughout the province. This performance strengthens prospects for future holiday periods and consolidates Huelva as a competitive and growing destination.
