A dozen companies from the Vallès Oriental region participated in a workshop on industrial symbiosis held yesterday at Can Ribas, in les Franqueses del Vallès, to promote resource exchange and sustainability.

The meeting, promoted by the Consell Comarcal and PAEVOR, presented practical tools for industry, such as the Practical Guide for the Incorporation of the 2030 Agenda into the PAE Industry, developed by the consultancy Adverbia. This document offers examples for integrating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and moving towards a more competitive and resilient production model.
During the session, the Agència de Residus de Catalunya presented the Industrial Symbiosis Platform of Catalonia (PSIC), and the Ajuntament de Granollers shared the experience of GRID (Granollers Industrial Resources). HONEXT Materials was also presented, showcasing an innovative technology to transform paper industry waste into sustainable construction materials.
The workshop concluded with a round table discussing the opportunities of the circular economy and business sustainability. The regional councilor for Economic Promotion, Enric Gisbert, highlighted the potential of business collaboration: “what one company no longer needs can become a resource for another, generating savings, synergies, and new forms of cooperation”.
The workshop series will continue on November 4th with a session on decarbonization and carbon footprint calculation, offering individualized consultancy for five companies. Participation is free and registration is open.
