Approximately 860 individuals have gathered today at the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona to compete for one of the 600 commercial operator positions announced by Renfe for 2026.

This selection process, which has garnered significant interest with 9,033 registered candidates nationwide, is part of the railway company's public employment offering for the upcoming year. The primary goal of this call is to strengthen customer service, addressing needs both before and after travel.
This offer is part of a broader initiative by Renfe to expand its workforce, which also includes 360 job openings for workshop operators and 550 new positions for train drivers.
The responsibilities of the selected commercial operators will encompass ticket sales and management, direct customer service, access control at facilities, and various administrative and operational support tasks at stations. A total of 854 individuals took the in-person test today.
In addition to the specific requirements outlined in the call for applications, candidates have demonstrated key competencies such as strong communication skills, a clear customer orientation, stress tolerance, and flexibility to adapt to diverse tasks.
