The value of sales abroad by companies in Camp de Tarragona and Terres de l'Ebre experienced a 14% increase during April, according to the Monthly Foreign Trade Report from the Ministry of Economy. Total sales volume reached 1,040.3 million euros, making this Catalan demarcation the one with the highest growth, surpassing Barcelona (8.5% and 6,777 million).
Chemical products, which account for over 40% of total sales, once again led the statistics with 418.2 million euros and a 15.4% growth. Following them, consumer manufactured goods contributed 156.7 million euros, with a significant increase of 49.1%.
Regarding imports, a considerable increase was also observed during the same period, reaching 1,485.8 million euros, up 13.2%. However, within these, chemical products saw a decline of -8.4% (223.5 million euros), and consumer manufactured goods decreased by -42.2% (75.7 million euros).
With these figures, the trade balance for the Tarragona demarcation in April remained negative, standing at -445.5 million euros, an increase of 45 million euros compared to the previous year.
