The Tarragona Provincial Council has opened a new edition of the Emprèn Awards, an initiative designed to support emerging business projects in Camp de Tarragona, Terres de l'Ebre, and Baix Penedès, aiming to foster new company creation and quality employment.

The call for applications for the Emprèn Awards 2026, which boast a total economic endowment of 40,000 euros, is now open, and interested parties can submit their candidacies until July 10. These awards are aimed at entrepreneurs who are launching a new business project.
The competition plans to recognize a maximum of ten projects, each of which will receive a prize of 4,000 euros. Various criteria will be considered for the selection of the winners, including the viability of the proposals, their capacity to generate jobs, their degree of innovation, social responsibility, the promotion of equality and reduction of the gender gap, talent retention in the territory, and the project's location in a rural municipality.
The Emprèn Awards constitute one of the fundamental pillars of the actions carried out by the Tarragona Provincial Council to boost entrepreneurship and contribute to the economic, social, and sustainable development of the region. Since their inception in 2013, a total of 697 business projects from Camp de Tarragona, Terres de l'Ebre, and Baix Penedès have been submitted, of which 160 have been awarded and, therefore, supported by the provincial institution.
