The appointment comes two weeks before the general shareholders' meeting, scheduled for June 30th, where the management changes will need to be ratified.
Recasens, 50, an engineer from the University of Girona, has an extensive career in the automotive sector, having held key positions at Renault Group, including Director of Strategy and General Director of Renault Iberia. He also served as president of the Spanish Association of Automobile and Truck Manufacturers (Anfac).
His move to Indra occurs at a crucial time for the multinational, which aims to establish itself as a leader in the Spanish defense industry and is exploring potential synergies with the automotive sector.
The new CEO will also assess the feasibility of reactivating the merger with Escribano Mechanical & Engineering, a company owned by brothers Ángel and Javier Escribano.
