Data from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Business shows that foreign sales during April totaled 208.27 million euros, representing a 7% decline compared to the same period last year. This figure also marks a decrease of over 10% compared to the data recorded in March.
Meanwhile, imports have maintained an upward trend since the beginning of the year, with an 11.9% increase in April compared to 2025, reaching 199.89 million euros. Although the trade balance remains positive at 8.38 million, the surplus has been drastically reduced compared to the 45.3 million obtained last year.
The pork sector remains a key factor in this decline, with a 27.64% year-on-year drop in exports. In contrast, extra virgin olive oil has shown positive performance, with a slight 1.28% growth in international sales, reaching 18.97 million euros.
Regarding destination markets, France remains the main buyer for companies in Lleida, despite recording a 6.72% decline. In contrast, significant sales increases have been observed towards Portugal, Italy, and Andorra.
