IDIBAPS has secured ninth position in the overall ranking of Catalan participation in the Horizon Europe program (2021-2025), according to data from AGAUR and the European Commission.

With a total of 38,584,445 euros awarded, the Catalan center of biomedical excellence ranks first in its category by funding volume among the 25 featured institutions. Beyond the financial figure, its participation in 46 initiatives and coordination of 21 European projects are notable, highlighting the capability of its researchers and support teams.
This success aligns with a period of excellence for science in Catalonia, which leads Spain's Horizon fund returns, accounting for 34% of the total allocated (1.889 billion euros). The health sector is a key driver, attracting 217.9 million euros with a 4.1% success rate, surpassed only by digital, industrial, space, climate, energy, and mobility sectors.
These figures solidify IDIBAPS as a crucial strategic partner in transforming competitive European funds into cutting-edge science and innovation, delivering real solutions for society.
