Renfe's Digital Competencies Center, located in Portbou, has played a fundamental role in the development of the new mobile applications for Rodalies and Cercanías. These new digital tools offer real-time information, more intuitive navigation, and new functionalities for users.
Since September 2025, the Portbou center has been involved in the validation and verification process of these applications. The objective has been to detect errors and ensure the tools were robust and secure before their implementation. Currently, eight professionals work at this center.
Participation in this project has represented one of the most significant challenges for the center, reinforcing its strategic role within the company's digital ecosystem and highlighting the specialization of its employees. Coordination with the various teams involved has been key to ensuring that the tool's evolutions met the necessary quality requirements.
The eight professionals from Portbou have focused on checking the different functionalities and analyzing the applications' behavior in multiple usage scenarios. This has allowed for the detection of incidents, verification of corrections, and contribution to improvements that enhance the user experience, offering a reliable tool for current mobility needs.
