The Reus Airport registered 250,796 passengers during August, a 7.8% increase compared to the same period last year. This passenger volume solidifies August as the busiest month of the summer, surpassing the figures from June (225,394) and July (235,986).
In the first eight months of the year, the facility handled 1,062,654 passengers, an 8.7% increase compared to the same period last year. Regarding operations, the aerodrome managed 2,273 flights in August, a 5.8% increase year-on-year. Since the beginning of the year, 17,297 operations have been recorded, also an 8.7% increase.
Furthermore, Aena has announced an investment of €1.963 billion across the Catalan airports in its network until 2031, as part of the DORA III plan. The majority of this investment, €1.760 billion, will be allocated to El Prat Airport.
The Reus Airport will receive €62.7 million for various projects planned between 2027 and 2031. Improvements include a new passport control area in arrivals, remodeling of access roads, enhanced comfort in the boarding area, and renovation of parking facilities, along with security and operational upgrades.
