Barcelona de Serveis Municipals (BSM) has brought together representatives from the electromobility sector to delve into the industry's challenges and the crucial role of high-power charging infrastructure in accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles. The event took place as part of the Tomorrow.Mobility World Congress.
The inaugural session, titled "Charging Hub: The Confidence to Switch to Electric Vehicles," addressed how these infrastructures facilitate the transition to more sustainable mobility. Experts agreed that high-power hubs will be crucial for building driver confidence and enhancing the user experience.
Moderated by Francesc Delgado, Director of New Mobility at BSM, the debate featured insights from Joan Hinojo (President of AEDIVE), Bastian Verot (General Director of Electra in Spain), David Huete (COO of Zunder), and Marc Pérez (General Director of CIRCUTOR), who shared their perspectives on the sector's challenges and opportunities.
It was highlighted that a visible, reliable, and user-friendly charging network will be key for the public to perceive electric mobility as normal. The availability of accessible, reliable, and efficient infrastructure is the premise that has led Endolla Barcelona to launch the city's first ultra-fast charging hub.
Following the debate, the Mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni, visited the BSM stand. There, BSM's General Director, Marta Labata, and Director of New Mobility, Francesc Delgado, provided him with firsthand information about the chargers that will be installed at the city's first public charging hub, with construction expected to conclude by the end of the year.
