The main objective of the participation is to consolidate the position of the ports of the Tenerife province and the Macaronesian region as strategic destinations for cruise traffic. The event will bring together industry professionals from nearly a hundred countries.
A delegation from Puertos de Tenerife, led by president Pedro Suárez and director Enrique García-Arroba, along with other members of the commercial team, will hold working meetings. These will focus on engaging with shipping companies, operators, and key agents in itinerary planning.
During the event, the evolution of cruise traffic in the ports managed by the Port Authority will be presented, which surpassed one and a half million cruise passengers in 2025. The delegation will also promote the Macaronesia destination under the Cruise Atlantics Islands (CAI) initiative, an alliance integrating the ports of Azores, Canary Islands, Cape Verde, and Madeira.
The CAI alliance aims to jointly address the opportunities and challenges for the development of cruise traffic in the region. The working agenda at Seatrade Cruise Med also includes coordination meetings and encounters with MedCruise and CLIA, leading international associations of which Puertos de Tenerife is a member.
Seatrade Cruise Med is one of the most important professional forums for the cruise industry in the Mediterranean and adjacent seas. Over 2,000 professionals, 180 exhibiting companies, and more than 200 representatives from shipping lines and cruise brands are expected to attend, along with delegations from approximately one hundred countries.
