The Government of the Canary Islands has launched a set of initiatives aimed at strengthening the business fabric of La Gomera, providing direct support to the island's self-employed workers.

The new measures, promoted by the Department of Economy, Industry, Commerce and Self-Employed Workers, seek to reduce bureaucratic and economic burdens for those starting or maintaining their professional activity. A key pillar is the so-called Zero Quota, which allows for the refund of Social Security contributions during the first year of activity.
The program also includes specific incentives for hiring workers over 52 years of age and bonuses for loans intended for investments. Additionally, support for family reconciliation has been reinforced through the Concilia Program, and aid has been established for situations of temporary disability.
In the fiscal area, the regional executive has implemented administrative simplification related to the IGIC. The goal is to streamline compliance with tax obligations and improve the competitiveness of small business owners and entrepreneurs on the island.
