Under the label “Canarias Islas de moda”, promoted by Proexca, the Canarian firms Pedro Palmas, Mommy Love, Macaronesia, and Elena Morales are presenting their collections to national and international buyers and professionals. The Canarian participation is supported by Gran Canaria Moda Cálida and Lanzarote Moda, textile support programs from their respective island councils.
The Canarian brands showcased their proposals in a fashion show and will do so again today. Minerva Alonso, Minister of Economic Development of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, highlighted the opportunity to boost the international projection of companies and local talent. An immersive experience of Gran Canaria Swim Week is being presented to allow visitors to experience the runway and its surroundings.
Meanwhile, Aroa Revelo, Minister of Industry of the Cabildo Insular de Lanzarote, stated that the presence of the brand Macaronesia at MOMAD demonstrates the strong moment for Lanzarote fashion, emphasizing its creativity, quality, and unique identity.
Proexca coordinates the “Canarias Islas de Moda” brand with a strategic plan focused on training, international commercialization, positioning, sustainability, and logistics. The goal is to increase the textile sector's contribution to the Canarian GDP and diversify the island economy.
This participation reinforces the commitment to the internationalization of Canarian fashion, promoting sustainability (slow fashion) and coordinated institutional support.
