The Industrial Price Index (IPI) in the Canary Islands experienced a 27.3% year-on-year variation in August 2026, almost nine points higher than in July, according to data from the Canary Islands Institute of Statistics (ISTAC).

The Canary Islands and the Principality of Asturias lead the autonomous communities with the highest annual variation rates, both at 27.3%. In contrast, Extremadura (5%) and Cantabria (6%) recorded the lowest values. Nationally, the index stood at 13.2%, 3.8 points higher than in July.
The evolution of the general index is strongly influenced by energy-related sectors. In August, the annual energy rate increased by more than 13 points, reaching 39.3%.
