The recent Papal visit to Santa Cruz de Tenerife has resulted in a total economic impact of 5.71 million euros, according to a study conducted by the municipal Development Society.

The analysis, based on 961 surveys, breaks this figure down into three areas: a direct impact of 3.04 million euros, an indirect effect of 1.35 million, and an induced impact of 1.32 million. The document highlights that for every euro spent directly by attendees, approximately 0.88 euros were generated in the local economy.
Economic activity was largely concentrated in the city center, with the Plaza de España and the port area being the zones with the highest volume of spending on dining and shopping. The average expenditure per attendee was 79.63 euros, with the restaurant sector being the main beneficiary, accounting for over one million euros in revenue.
The study highlights the event's high drawing power, which brought together approximately 47,600 people. 89.4% of attendees traveled specifically for the event, primarily using sustainable transport methods such as walking, buses, or the tram. Social perception of the event was highly positive, with high ratings for security and cleanliness.
