The supermarket chain HiperDino, with 41 years of history in the Archipelago, has established itself as the undisputed leader in the food retail sector in the Canary Islands. Recent studies indicate a 99% brand awareness among Canarian consumers, with 35.7% recognizing it as their go-to supermarket chain.
Olivia Llorca, General Director of HiperDino in the Balearic and Canary Islands, emphasizes that the key to success lies in consistency, product quality, and competitive pricing. The company concluded 2025 with a turnover of 1.682 million euros, a 7.5% increase from the previous year, reflecting consumer trust in its business model.
The shift in consumer behavior, prioritizing proximity and local products, has fueled the growth of regional supermarkets, which now hold 25.7% of the market share. HiperDino responds to this trend by offering fresh and local products, supported by a pricing department of nearly thirty individuals who monitor over 40,000 items daily.
Digital transformation is another fundamental pillar for HiperDino. The chain has implemented an agile app and an efficient home delivery service, and in 2026 will launch its own artificial intelligence to enhance internal processes and the customer experience. Investment in modernizing and renovating its stores, with over 90 million euros planned, is also part of its growth and strengthening strategy.
With over 10,000 employees, HiperDino is a significant job creator in the Canary Islands. The qualification and professionalism of its staff, along with excellence in the supply chain and a commitment to variety, quality, and price, are the elements that, according to Llorca, distinguish the chain in an increasingly competitive market.
