The #TechTrends FV26 event, organized by the Fuerteventura Island Council and the Canarias Excelencia Tecnológica (CET) cluster, took place at the Insular Youth Center in Puerto del Rosario. This gathering marks a milestone as the first #TechTrends initiative held outside of Gran Canaria and Tenerife, bringing the latest Artificial Intelligence (AI) trends closer in a practical and accessible way.
The event is part of the «FuerteventurIA: Artificial Intelligence for All» project, promoted by the Council and the CET cluster. Its aim is to position the island as a leader in technological democratization, fostering AI adoption across society, education, local businesses, and public administration to reduce the digital divide and enhance competitiveness.
Carmen Alonso, Insular Delegate Councilor for Accessibility, IT, New Technologies, Planning, and Strategic Projects of the Fuerteventura Island Council, highlighted the meeting's significance: «Today we take another step. Fuerteventura becomes the meeting point for technology, innovation, and talent. TechTrends Fuerteventura 2026 is born to bring innovation and technology closer to businesses and transform knowledge into real tools and solutions».
Alonso emphasized the Council's central objective: to bring innovation and technology closer to Fuerteventura's businesses so they can leverage opportunities for growth and competitiveness. She also announced the resumption of «technological breakfasts» on October 1st, focusing on digital talent management.
Esther Pérez Verdú, representing the Canarias Excelencia Tecnológica cluster, stressed the value of decentralizing the event, fulfilling the goal of broader dissemination of technology developed in the Canary Islands. She highlighted the cluster's commitment to showcasing its associated companies and assisting institutions, businesses, and society in adopting technology, particularly AI, underscoring the importance of the FuerteventurIA project with the Fuerteventura Island Council.
The #TechTrends FV26 program offered 5 hours of intensive content. Following the opening, Esther Pérez Verdú (CEO of NemeSys 2.0) explained how AI can improve a business. Agile presentations followed by Mannix Manglani (MNX Online) on data importance, Ismael Bacha (AtomTech Consulting) on equipping companies with a 'brain', Gastón Mora Madrid (Qraneos) on AI and conversational commerce, and Maica Amador (Sparkling Tech Solutions) demonstrating an AI application for cognitive decline detection.
The event also included practical workshops (#WorkShops) led by Ted Stresen-Reuter (Evolved Ideas) on using ChatGPT, and Yunior González Santana (SQUAADS). Additionally, the Trust AI project was presented by Fran Piñeiro and Sara Nuez from the CET cluster.
The keynote address was delivered by Pau Llambí Feliu, founder of Marketers Group, focusing on practical AI solutions for SMEs, addressing daily questions on content creation, process automation, and AI law.
With this resounding success, #TechTrends FV26 and the FuerteventurIA project demonstrate that Artificial Intelligence is not the future, but a transformative present accessible to all Fuerteventura businesses willing to innovate.
