The Casa del Emprendedor, located in the La Gañanía industrial estate, will host this training session from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The session, titled ‘Know the Canary Islands Economic and Fiscal Regime (REF)’, will be led by economist Miguel Ángel Álvarez Díaz from the Official College of Economists of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
This initiative is part of the second REF Training Plan for SMEs, self-employed, and entrepreneurs, promoted by the REF Commissioner of the Government of the Canary Islands, with the collaboration of the Los Realejos City Council. The objective is to bring REF tools closer to the local productive sector, helping to reduce operating costs and facilitate investments.
The training is specifically aimed at merchants, self-employed individuals, entrepreneurs, and their advisors. Key aspects will be covered, including the origin and evolution of the Canary Islands' fiscal framework, own taxes, and the practical application of compensations and incentives such as the Reserve for Investments in the Canary Islands (RIC), the Deduction for Investments in the Canary Islands (DIC), the bonus for goods production, and the Canary Islands Special Zone (ZEC), in addition to compensations for transport, energy, and water.
The REF commissioner, José Ramón Barrera, emphasized the importance of this session for small businesses and self-employed individuals to understand the tools available to make better decisions, reinvest, and create employment. Collaboration with city councils and professional colleges is crucial to extend this information to all municipalities in the archipelago.
