The Avenida de Canarias and its adjacent streets will be the venue for the XV edition of ExpoMóvil on Friday, June 19, and Saturday, June 20. This event, which has established itself as a key date for the mobility and automotive sector in Gran Canaria, will bring together exhibiting companies of new and used vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles, caravans, as well as specialized services and innovative mobility solutions. The exhibition spaces are almost fully occupied.
The fair is organized by the Association of Businessmen of Vecindario (Ascoive) and has the institutional support of the Santa Lucía de Tirajana City Council and the Cabildo of Gran Canaria. Representatives from both institutions highlighted during the presentation the event's positive impact on the economic and commercial dynamization of the Open Commercial Zone of Vecindario.
The Minister of Economic Development of the Cabildo, Minerva Alonso, reaffirmed the island's support for the commercial area, describing it as «stable and sustained over time», and recalled the investments made to improve the space, including the installation of LED lighting, urban furniture, and new shaded areas.
For his part, the mayor of Santa Lucía de Tirajana, Francisco García, pointed out that the Avenida de Canarias represents «the best showcase» for a mobility-focused fair. He emphasized how ExpoMóvil complements municipal initiatives such as the Mobility Plan and the future Low Emission Zone.
The Councilor for Mobility, Juan Francisco Guedes, thanked the Cabildo for its support and Ascoive for their efforts in organizing this fair, considering it an «opportunity for the public to discover the offerings of different vehicles». The Mobility department will support the event with awareness activities for pedestrians and Road Safety workshops.
The ExpoMóvil program includes children's workshops, family activities, musical performances, and exhibitions of classic and tuning vehicles. Additionally, awareness campaigns on road safety and coexistence on public roads will be conducted. The municipal Mobility department will also offer educational workshops for pedestrians and road users.
The Interinsular Federation of Motor Racing of Las Palmas will have its own space within the fairgrounds. The president of Ascoive, Juan Pérez Pérez, highlighted that the fair is designed to attract audiences of all ages, combining commerce, education, and entertainment.
