Eleven companies from Gran Canaria, under the Gran Canaria Me Gusta program of the Cabildo, are participating in the 39th edition of Salón Gourmets in Ifema Madrid, a key event for promoting the island's agri-food products.

The participation of the Gran Canarian delegation in the International Quality Food and Beverage Fair, held at Ifema Madrid, aims to enhance the visibility and positioning of local products. The Minister of Economic Development for the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, Minerva Alonso, attended the opening day to support the participating companies and reaffirm the institutional commitment to the external expansion of the island's agri-food sector.

"Salón Gourmets is a strategic opportunity for our companies, because it allows them to position themselves in national and international markets and demonstrate the differential value of Gran Canaria's product."

Gran Canaria's space, located in pavilion 3 of Ifema within the joint Canary Islands area, features a 39-square-meter stand. It showcases products from eleven companies, both through direct presence and product display. Represented firms include Mojos y Mermeladas Isla Bonita, Dismepe Canarias, Embutidos Terorero, Rodrigonsa, Frontón de Oro, Asoquegran, Salinas de Tenefé, and Quesos Valsequillo. Additionally, products like Gofio La Piña, Sidra Tuscany, and Salinas Bocacangrejo are promoted, covering a wide range from sauces and jams to wines, cheeses, gofio, and salts.
Throughout the four-day fair, the Gran Canaria companies will conduct an extensive program of activities. This includes tastings, presentations, and showcookings in the tasting room, specifically aimed at industry professionals such as importers, distributors, restaurateurs, and purchasing managers. The goal is to facilitate direct contact and generate new business opportunities.

"From the Cabildo, we continue to commit to supporting the business fabric in these key spaces, where not only products are displayed, but real commercial relationships are generated that contribute to the growth of the primary sector and the agri-food industry of the island."
