According to data published by Puertos del Estado, the total traffic volume across the five ports managed by the entity reached 24.4 million tons through August. This 0.98% increase compared to the same period last year reflects a trend of operational stability.
Freight movement has shown positive results in key indicators. Container traffic (TEUs) has exceeded one million units, with a 4.43% growth. Meanwhile, the cruise sector has seen a notable boost, with 1.3 million passengers, representing an increase of nearly 9% compared to 2025.
Regarding infrastructure, the Port of Las Palmas leads in tonnage, followed by the ports of Arrecife, Puerto del Rosario, Arinaga, and Salinetas, all of which have shown positive variations in their respective traffic. Fuel supply performance is particularly noteworthy, recording a 10.56% increase during the month of August.
The port authority currently ranks behind the ports of Algeciras, Valencia, and Barcelona in the national ranking, maintaining a growth rate aligned with the average of the country's general port system.
