The Cabildo of Fuerteventura and the Association of Self-Employed Workers of the Canary Islands (ATA) have signed a collaboration agreement with a budget of 65,000 euros to boost the competitiveness of self-employed individuals on the island.

The agreement, signed by the President of the Cabildo, Lola García, and the national president of ATA, Lorenzo Amor Acedo, with the presence of the Minister of Finance, Economic Promotion and Employment, Nuria Cabrera, and the president of ATA Canarias, Pedro Adueza, aims to promote entrepreneurship, continuous training, individualized support, and digitalization.
The funding, sourced from the Cabildo's own funds and FDCAN, is part of the Strategic Plan for Economic Promotion and Employment Development. Planned actions also include an analysis of the collective's situation in Fuerteventura and the creation of a meeting point to facilitate access to relevant professional information.
Furthermore, the agreement seeks to improve the competitiveness of SMEs and foster synergies for their consolidation. ATA representatives highlighted that these initiatives will help reduce bureaucracy and costs associated with business creation.
Also present at the signing were representatives from the Chamber of Commerce of Fuerteventura, Asofuer, the Association of Merchants of Puerto del Rosario, and Empronor.
