The Plátano de Canarias brand has launched the PROPER DIET 2 – “Eat European Fruit” program, an initiative co-financed by the European Union, aiming to improve eating habits in Spain through the consumption of fresh European-origin fruit.

This program, set to unfold over the next three years, primarily seeks to strengthen the bond between consumers and European agricultural products. It aims to highlight their distinctive attributes, as well as the productive and socioeconomic model that supports them.
Plátano de Canarias, recognized with the EU Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) seal, exemplifies this model, which is based on high environmental, labor, and quality standards.
The first action of this initiative is the communication campaign titled "You are like a Canary Banana," developed by the Dentsu Creative agency. This campaign adopts an emotional and personal approach, going beyond the fruit itself to connect with the values of the people who choose it.

"The campaign's slogan, "You are like a Canary Banana," is not a metaphor, but a deliberate identification between the values that define the Canary Banana—unique, good, sweet, inimitable—and the values of people."

The campaign is structured around various stories featuring everyday characters, using the iconic Plátano de Canarias label as a narrative device. This label "travels" from the product to people, symbolizing the recognition of individual identity and values.
The initial phase of this new campaign will be broadcast during the spring and summer of 2026 across television, radio, and digital media. This action marks the beginning of an ambitious program that aims to restore fruit's role in daily diets and strengthen preference for European-origin products at a critical time for the community's agricultural sector.
