Parcemasa has launched a process to find new businesses to occupy four available premises at the San Gabriel cemetery, in Campanillas, Malaga. These spaces must be designated for activities complementary to funeral services.

The announcement does not specify whether a new cafeteria is sought, which would replace the vending machines currently located in one of the main halls of the cemetery. Last July 31st, the former cafeteria of Parcemasa closed its doors after 40 years of service, leaving 16 people unemployed. The cafeteria had been in receivership for three years, with debts amounting to one million euros.
Former cafeteria workers demonstrated for weeks in front of the Málaga City Council to request that the closure be prevented and that the service not be replaced by vending machines.
The conditions for new businesses establish an initial price of 20 euros per square meter per month, translating to 840 euros monthly. However, Parcemasa has not yet set a definitive fee. Interested parties may submit offers for more than one premises, and prior experience in the requested activity will be valued.
Businesses wishing to obtain more information or arrange a visit will have 15 calendar days to do so. Contact for inquiries is via email at [[email protected]].
