The Contracting Councilor of the Mijas City Council, Juan José Torres, has presented an overview of his area of responsibility, highlighting a 20% increase in major contracts over the past three years. Concurrently, there has been a significant reduction in minor contracts.
Currently, between 6.5 and 7 major contracts are processed monthly, compared to 5.5 or 6 in the previous term. This increase is attributed to the government team's commitment to this contracting method and the implementation of electronic administration, which streamlines the process.
Regarding minor contracts, which have specific characteristics and economic limits, Torres explained that "since this government team took office, we have never exceeded one hundred contracts of this type, compared to the 160 or 170 made in the previous term." The current policy is to prioritize major contracts and minimize minor ones.
Since 2017, contracting processes have been managed through the State Contracting Platform to ensure greater transparency and broaden the range of received offers.
