Average pension in Granada exceeds 1,181 euros, up 5.1% year-on-year

The province of Granada sees a significant increase in retirement, disability, widowhood, orphanhood, and family-dependent benefits.

The province of Granada registered a total of 205,748 pensions in May, with an average amount of 1,181 euros per month, representing a 5.1% increase compared to the same month last year.

According to data published by the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security, and Migration, the retirement pension stands at 1,355 euros for the 126,790 beneficiaries in the province. Permanent disability pensions amount to 1,174 euros for 24,980 individuals.
Widowhood benefits are set at 822 euros for 44,791 recipients. Pensions for family members amount to 785 euros for 1,479 individuals, while orphanhood pensions are paid to 7,708 beneficiaries with an average of 504 euros.
Nationally, Social Security disbursed 10,480,593 pensions to nearly 9.5 million people in May, totaling 14,365 million euros. The average pension in the Spanish system stands at 1,370 euros, a 4.6% increase from the previous year.
The average retirement pension in Spain is 1,572 euros, 4.4% higher than in May 2025. By regimes, the average for the General Regime is 1,731 euros, compared to 1,060 euros for the Special Regime for Self-Employed Workers. Coal Mining records 3,003 euros and the Maritime Regime, 1,736 euros.
April data indicates that new retirement pension applications average 1,644 euros per month. The average widowhood pension in May reached 975 euros.
