The international team of IFMIF-DONES has begun its activities in the DONES Hub, a building situated at the main site of the scientific infrastructure in Escúzar (Granada). This move represents a new milestone in the project's evolution.
In recent years, IFMIF-DONES's activity has been carried out from the UGR-DONES building, which served as a provisional headquarters while construction and commissioning of the new infrastructure progressed.
With the opening of the DONES Hub, the complex now features 100 fully equipped workstations for IFMIF-DONES personnel, fostering the integration of international teams and the coordinated development of the project's various areas.
The operational start-up of this building marks a decisive step in the establishment of IFMIF-DONES at its definitive location. Designed to support management, engineering, coordination, and future operations, the DONES Hub becomes the new nerve center for a scientific infrastructure that is strategic for Europe and fundamental for the advancement of fusion energy.
This new phase reinforces IFMIF-DONES's commitment to developing a unique international facility, set to play an essential role in the future deployment of fusion energy as a safe, sustainable, and virtually inexhaustible energy source.
