The initiative, part of the European project RECinMED, aims to democratize access to clean energy. Through a web tool, users can obtain precise data on solar radiation, usable roof surface area, and estimates of economic savings and CO₂ emission reductions.
This platform not only provides technical information but also facilitates the creation of local energy communities. Regulations allow residents to collaborate on photovoltaic production with neighbors located within a radius of up to two kilometers, thus promoting distributed generation.
The technological development was made possible through collaboration with the company ImpactE, which integrated university research to adapt the system to the urban characteristics of Granada. The project aligns with the municipal decarbonization strategy and seeks to reduce dependence on external energy markets.
