An ambitious data center project by Benbros Energy is set to be developed in the extension of the Andalucía Technology Park in Málaga, with an investment of 1.257 billion euros.

The initiative, led by Saltburn Holding/Meridian Data Centers, aims to become one of the largest data centers in Southern Europe. The facility will require 150 megawatts of electrical power and a capacity of 100 megawatts of IT power, intended to meet the growing demand from the technology market, including hyperscale clients and colocation services.
Located on plot C of sector SUS CA-23 'Extensión del PTA' in Málaga, the center will span 71,415 square meters, with 47,629.40 square meters of buildable area. This project has been integrated into the Project Accelerator Unit (UAP) of the Junta de Andalucía, receiving the declaration of "business investment of strategic interest for Andalucía".
The UAP will expedite the processing of this urban development, offering assistance and coordination to the promoters. The data center, which will comply with the Tier III / Tier III+ standard, will focus on storage, processing, artificial intelligence, cloud services, and digital connectivity. This standard ensures high availability and redundancy in its power and cooling systems.
The infrastructure will be supplied from the SET Cártama substation of Red Eléctrica de España. The 100 MW IT power is a key indicator of the data center's server and IT equipment size and capacity.
The creation of 710 direct jobs during the construction phase and 254 full-time positions during the operational phase is anticipated. The project's realization is contingent upon the resolution of pending administrative and energy conditions, with an execution horizon set until the end of 2031.
