Vocational Training and Certificates of Professionalism have a strong practical focus, but teaching how a company works involves much more than learning procedures or doing exercises. In a real company, you buy, you sell, you manage inventory, you attend to customers, you prepare documents, and above all, you make decisions.
Company simulation allows this reality to be brought into the classroom. Students join a simulated company, assume responsibilities, and carry out tasks and operations related to different departments. In this way, knowledge is acquired through practice, and decisions have consequences within the company's own activity.
The proposal from formaTenred is structured around SimulaRED, an online company simulation platform that allows the creation of companies managed by students and the establishment of commercial relationships with simulated companies from other educational centers.
This last aspect is one of the differentiating elements of the proposal: companies from different educational centers can interact with each other as clients and suppliers. Students can request quotes, place orders, manage sales, exchange commercial documentation, and experiment with situations similar to those they will encounter in the professional world.
Thus, the classroom becomes a small business ecosystem where, in addition to technical knowledge, skills such as communication, teamwork, planning, autonomy, problem-solving, and decision-making are developed.
During the last academic year, more than 80 simulated companies were created through the platform, allowing students to develop practical activities related to the management and operation of a company.
For formaTenred, technology is only part of the proposal. Simulation requires planning and teacher support, which is why the platform is complemented by training for teachers, teaching resources, and support during its implementation.
The goal is for students not only to learn how a company works but also to experience what it means to work within one. Because perhaps the best way to learn to manage a company is by working in it.
