Five Jaén Companies Awarded for Innovation and Sustainability

The Provincial Council of Jaén and Fundación Unicaja recognize business projects driving sustainable development and diversification in the province.

The Provincial Council of Jaén, in collaboration with Fundación Unicaja, has presented the 27th Entrepreneurship and Innovation Awards for Sustainable Development 2026, recognizing business innovation and sustainability in the province.

The Caseria Escalona of the Provincial Council of Jaén hosted the awards ceremony, honoring five companies for their innovative and sustainable projects. This year's recipients include Gaien Data from Linares; Andaluza de Electricidad (Andel) from Mancha Real; Productos La Real from La Carolina; Vida Trashumante from Marmolejo; and Peñalver Spaces Solutions from Jaén.
The president of the Provincial Council, Juan Latorre, highlighted that these firms demonstrate the consolidation of a business ecosystem in the province where innovation, sustainability, and diversification are essential. Also attending were the fourth vice-president of the Provincial Council, Francisca Medina; deputy María Dolores Ruiz; and the president of Fundación Unicaja Jaén, Carmen Espín.
Latorre emphasized that these distinctions highlight the entrepreneurial talent and innovation visible in the province, a reality supported by company creation and job generation data. He stated that Jaén possesses a potential that encourages optimism, recalling initiatives such as the Employment and Business Plan and the Jaén por Industria strategy, which unites over 280 companies.
Looking ahead, the provincial president announced a future focus on artificial intelligence, automation, and Big Data, as well as the opportunities offered by CETEDEX, whose main campus will open its first buildings by the end of the year. "Industry, innovation, and employment are, and will continue to be, a priority for the Provincial Council of Jaén," affirmed Latorre, describing the awards as "a good thermometer of entrepreneurship, innovation, and business consolidation in our province."
For her part, Carmen Espín, president of Fundación Unicaja Jaén, noted that this initiative by the Provincial Council reaches its 27th edition, recognizing the entrepreneurs of Jaén who contribute to the province's progress.
A total of 24 candidacies from 21 companies were submitted for this edition. Gaien Data (Linares) was recognized as the best business project for its application of artificial intelligence to the productive sector. Andaluza de Electricidad (Andel) (Mancha Real) received the Jaén Company of the Year Award for Industry, noted for its role in energy transition and global connectivity. Productos La Real (La Carolina) won in the category for best women-led company, being one of over 300 firms associated with the quality brand Degusta Jaén. Vida Trashumante (Marmolejo) was awarded in the "Young" category for its talent applied to the primary sector. Lastly, Peñalver Spaces Solutions (Jaén) received the award for business trajectory, with three decades of experience in office furniture and IT.
Following the awards ceremony, Juan Latorre expressed his optimism regarding the talent and commitment to innovation among the awarded companies, assuring that the Provincial Council of Jaén will always be an ally on this path.
