The Sub-delegation of the Government in Cádiz highlighted the July labor market data, placing the province at the forefront of the monthly unemployment reduction in Andalusia. Registered unemployment has decreased by 3.51% compared to June, with 3,479 fewer people, and by 12.17% compared to July of the previous year, totaling 13,241 fewer unemployed.
The number of unemployed stands at 95,575 people, the lowest figure since 2007. The services sector led the unemployment decrease with 2,847 fewer people, followed by agriculture and industry, each with 47 fewer. Individuals with no prior employment also saw a reduction of 621. Construction was the only sector with a slight increase, adding 83 more unemployed.
Regarding gender distribution, 59,954 unemployed are women and 35,621 are men. Among those under 25 years old, unemployment affects 6,569 young people. A total of 41,975 contracts were formalized in July, of which 13,098 were permanent.
Social Security affiliation also experienced positive growth, reaching 460,931 contributors. This represents an increase of 11,025 affiliates compared to the previous month (2.45% more) and 13,962 in year-on-year comparison (3.12% more).
These indicators reflect, according to the Sub-delegation, a favorable evolution of the Cádiz labor market over the past year, with a continued reduction in unemployment and an increase in employment.
